April 19, Fineko/abc.az. India's population will reach 1.428 billion by mid-2023, surpassing China's population of 1.425 billion.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in UN Population Fund’s report distributed on Wednesday.

The report provides data on the dynamics of the population on UN estimates by mid-2023.

"The population of India is 1.428 billion, China is 1.425 billion," it says.

"It will not be possible to name a day when the population of India will exceed the population of China, since the exact date cannot be known," UNFPA representative Eddie Wright commented on the data.
