Azerbaijan drops a step in ranking on broadband Internet speed

April 18, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan ranked 54th among 140 countries in March 2023 on mobile Internet speed, with average download speed of 39.46 Mbit/s.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Speedtest Global Index that Azerbaijan has advanced 3 steps compared with the January indicator.

In the list of mobile Internet, the UAE took the 1st place (178.25 MB/s), Cuba - the last 137th place (3.44 MB/s).

In March, Azerbaijan dropped one notch in broadband Internet speed, taking 118th place. The average speed of fixed broadband Internet in the country was 27.84 MB/s. The rating for fixed broadband Internet speed includes 180 countries.

Singapore took the 1st place in terms of broadband Internet speed (235.4 MB/s), Cuba took the last place (1.84 MB/s).

Also, in March, the city of Baku dropped one notch in terms of mobile Internet speed (41.71 MB/s), taking 73rd place among 174 cities. In terms of fixed broadband Internet speed, the capital of Azerbaijan dropped by 2 steps and took 137th place (30.36 MB/s).

Among the cities, the 1st place in terms of mobile Internet speed was taken by Riyadh (Qatar), where the download speed was 223.87 MB/s, and the last place was Havana (3.03 MB/s).

The rating of cities on fixed broadband Internet included 194 cities. Beijing tops the list (264.92 MB/s), Havana was last in the ranking (1.51 MB/s).
