Passenger carriages by high-speed train via Baku-Agstafa-Baku route begins

March 10, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) will start passenger transportation by high-speed train via Baku-Agstafa-Baku route for the first time from 18 March, extending the route of Baku-Ganja-Baku high-speed train to Agstafa station.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to ADY, if before March 2020 passengers traveled from Baku to Agstafa by passenger train for 8 hours, now this distance will be overcome in 4 hours and 55 minutes.

The extension of the route line makes it possible to provide activities at Tovuz railway station as well.

The fast passenger train will depart daily from Baku to Agstafa at 08:45 and arrive at its destination at 13.40. Via Agstafa-Baku route, the train will depart daily at 17:10 and arrive at the Baku Railway Station at 22:05. The average speed of a high-speed passenger train on this route will be 100 km/h.

The fare via Baku-Agstafa route in one direction is 17 manats (standard) in the direction of Baku-Tovuz - 16 manats. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices of railway stations or on ADY’s official website (https://ticket.ady.az/ticket-search/). Tickets will go on sale on 10 March.

A four-car double-decker high-speed passenger train manufactured by the Swiss company Stadler Rail Group will run via Baku-Agstafa-Baku route with length of 459 km. The total passenger capacity of the train is 364 seats.
