February 28, Fineko/abc.az. The World Bank has published the amount of damage caused to Turkiye on 6 February after a series of devastating earthquakes.
ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Turkish press that the supreme body stated that the earthquake caused $34.2 bn in physical damage to Turkiye.
The WB also announced that the cost of reconstruction and modernization could be 2-3-fold higher than this amount.
The earthquakes that occurred in Turkiye from 6 February to the present have covered 11 provinces and had negative impact on 13.5 million people.
The earthquakes claimed the lives of more than 44,000 people and damaged about 200,000 buildings.
