Newlyweds to be given marriage leave in China

16:32 - 22.02.2023

February 22, Fineko/abc.az. Newlyweds will be given marriage leave to increase the birth rate in China.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Chinese media that the provinces of China will independently set the number of vacation days. For example, in Gansu and Shaanxi, newlyweds are given - the maximum - 30 days of rest, while in Shanghai, spouses are entitled to ten days of vacation, and in Sichuan, three days.

Experts say the decline in China's birth rate is associated with the "one child" policy in force between 1980 and 2015. Besides, the sharp increase in education costs has also caused the rise in child-free sentiments in the country.
