February 21, Fineko/abc.az. Facebook and Instagram, which belong to Meta Corporation, will be able to verify the authenticity of accounts for a fee, ABC.AZ reports, quoting company’s head Mark Zuckerberg.
"This week we are starting to introduce feature Meta Verified, a subscription service that will allow you to verify your account with a government ID, get a blue badge, additional protection from accounts impersonating you and direct access to support," Zuckerberg wrote on Facebook.
He added that the cost of account verification will be $11.99 per month in the web version and $14.99 per month for iOS mobile devices.
Residents of Australia and New Zealand will be the first to use the new feature, and then "in the near future" it will appear in other countries.
