February 20, Fineko/abc.az. A kilogram of meat has risen in price from 12-13 up to 14-15 manats in districts of Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ reports that according to sellers in Jalilabad, for several days there was an increase in prices for beef and lamb by 1-2 manats on the market.
The reason is the high cost of the livestock they buy in live weight.
And in Tovuz there is an increase in the selling price of meat only of small cattle. Compared with the previous price, there is an increase in the price per kilogram of mutton by 2-3 manats. Sellers attribute the current situation to the fact that farm owners sell live animals at a high price.
A similar picture is also observed in Barda. While sellers link the rise in meat prices with grass and feed, some point to shortage of animals at the moment.
According to sellers, the price increase also had serious impact on sales. It is reported that the increase in prices led to decrease in demand.
