Internet in Azerbaijan has become worse – speed has decreased

February 16, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan ranked 64th among 138 countries on mobile Internet speed with speed of 32.06 MB/s for January 2023.

According to Speedtest Global Index, Azerbaijan has dropped by 3 points compared to the indicator for December 2022.

Last month, Azerbaijan ranked 118th in the world on the average speed of fixed broadband Internet, which is 2 points less compared with the previous month. In January, the average speed of fixed broadband Internet in the country was 26.25 MB/s.

In the list of mobile operators, the UAE took 1st place with speed of 161 MB/s, and Cuba took 138th place with speed of 4.13 MB/s.

The rating for fixed broadband Internet speed includes 179 countries. Singapore took the 1st place (234.55 MB/s), and Cuba took the last place (1.84 MB/s).

In addition, in January, the city of Baku dropped by 1 point on mobile Internet speed and took 77th place among 172 cities with speed of 35.08 MB/s. In terms of fixed broadband Internet speed, the capital of Azerbaijan advanced one point and took 136th place with speed of 29.07 MB/s.
