February 14, Fineko/abc.az. As a result of the sale of plastic bags, which have so far been issued free of charge in Azerbaijan's retail chains, the markets will receive significant profits.
ABC.AZ reports that starting from 15 February plastic bags will be provided to consumers in Azerbaijan's retail chains as a separate type of product.
In this regard, changes were made to the legislation, and the state authorities brought this requirement to the attention of the management of the markets.
Currently, preparatory work is underway in the retail network in this regard.
Informing about this, Vugar Najafov, deputy chairman of the Public Association for the Development of Retail Chains of Azerbaijan, said that Baku retail chains provide about 1 million plastic bags to customers during the day: "Taking into account all retail chains and stores in Baku, about 1 million plastic bags are provided to customers in the capital during the day. Until now, packages have been provided for free, but from now on they will be paid."
