January 24, Fineko/abc.az. As a result of the acute shortage of chicken eggs in the world, some countries observe a significant increase in prices for this food product.
ABC.AZ reports that the cause of shortage was destruction of a large number of chickens to prevent chicken flu, as well as shortage and increase in prices for chicken feed as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
As a result, the number of eggs has also sharply decreased. According to U.S. Department of Agriculture’s report on food prices, millions of chickens became infected during an outbreak of avian flu that began in February last year. As a result, about 60 million birds were destroyed in 47 states. Of them, 43 million were laying hens.
