January 12, Fineko/abc.az. In 2022, Azerbaijan's nonoil exports reached $3 bn for the first time since independence. Nonoil exports increased by 10.3% against 2021, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Milli Majlis MP Vugar Bayramov.

The MP noted that the growth of nonoil exports is conditioned, on the one hand, with expansion of production in nonoil sectors, and on the other hand, with the increase in the inflation rate in importing countries.

According to initial statistical expectations for 2022, although GDP grew by an average of 4.8%, the non-oil economy grew more than by 9%.

And this suggests that the non-energy sector had a special share in the formation of GDP in 2022.

Thus, in the first 10 months of 2022, the value added in the oil & gas sector of the economy decreased by 2.4%. As a result, the non-energy sector has grown in value created in 2022. The largest growth in 2022 was observed in the export of chemical industry products: 57.7%.

Exports of ferrous metals and products made from them increased by 17.5%, aluminum and products made from it - by 15.4%, and tea exports - by 35.6%. Almost a third of all nonoil exports were agricultural and agro-industrial products - $912.4 million.
