January 5, Fineko/abc.az. Yesterday, information appeared on social networks about a decrease in flour prices. The report says that the price of flour has been reduced from 41 to 38 manats. Due to the current situation on the world grain market and taking into account the ratio of the ruble to the manat, the price per ton of flour in Azerbaijan decreased by 55 manats.
ABC.AZ reports that Free Consumers’ Union chairman Eyub Huseynov said that prices for a bag of flour fell not by 3 manats, but only by 1 manat:
"Our Union conducted a study to clarify the information being disseminated. It turned out that the decrease occurred by only 1 manat, which cannot lead to decrease in the price of bread.
At best, this can affect the quality of bread. In order for the price of bread to decrease, the price of a bag of flour should decrease by 10-15%. It is no coincidence that the fact of decrease in bread prices has not yet been recorded."
