December 27, Fineko/abc.az. There are new penalties for changing or copying the IMEI number of a mobile device.

ABC.AZ reports that this was reflected in the new article proposed in the Code of Administrative Offences, was discussed at today's Milli Majlis meeting.

Under the bill, changing or copying the IMEI number of a mobile device in order to evade the registration of a mobile device entails the imposition of a fine on individuals in the amount of 300 to 400 manats, on officials - from 1000 to 1500 manats, on legal entities - from 3,000 manats to 4,000 manats.

For repeated offense within 1 year from the date of entry into force of the decision on administrative penalty, individuals will be fined from 600 to 800 manats, officials from 2,000 manats to 2,500 manats, legal entities from 9,000 manats to 12,000 manats.

The law comes into force on April 1, 2023.

The bill was put to the vote and adopted in the last, 3rd reading.
