Virus detected in Bulgarian pepper imported from Iran

December 22, Fineko/abc.az. A brown wrinkling virus has been detected in a batch of Bulgarian pepper imported from Iran in Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency informs that batches of pepper imported in Azerbaijan by Iranian company Aqro Laym LLC (25,452 kg) and Albalı A Fruit LLC (8,472 kg) were checked by agency inspectors.

As a result of the analysis of the samples taken, the brown wrinkling virus was detected.

The Agency decided to destroy unsuitable batches of pepper.

The brown wrinkling virus is a dangerous pathogen of vegetable crops such as tomatoes and peppers.
