Sahil Babayev: Today not all the population receives minimum pension

November 11, Fineko/abc.az. Committee meetings were held today in the Milli Majlis.

ABC.AZ reports that Minister of Labor & Social Protection Sahil Babayev delivered speech at the meeting.

The minister said that today not all the population receives a minimum pension, receives allowances with indexation:

"We expect serious growth next year, taking into account the indexation of the minimum pension. In each of our reforms, preference is given to the population with low incomes. That's why we raised the minimum wage. This process will continue."

The minister added that the retirement age is set at 65 years:

"Today the effective age is 62 years for men and 61 years for women. A number of benefits are provided. Before the pandemic, the average age of women was over 70 years. Therefore, all risks should be properly assessed here."
