October 27, Fineko/abc.az. The non-cash transactions with payment cards in Azerbaijan increased by 2.2 times for Jan-Sept 2022 (against Jan-Sept 2021), including 2.7-fold growth on e-commerce transactions.

ABC.AZ reports that CBA Payment Systems & Settlements Department’s director Kamala Gurbanova says that over the past year, the share of non-cash turnover in transactions with payment cards grew by 12 p.p. to 42%.

"For comparison, this figure was 23% in 2020 and 32% in 2021. High growth rates are also observed in quantitative and volume indicators of contactless transactions. The number and amount of contactless payments within the country exceeded the figures of the 2021 same term by 2.1 times. These indicators show that non-cash payment skills have been formed in the country," Gurbanova emphasized.
