Appeal to Tariff Council for Internet use prices - Details

17:38 - 26.10.2022

October 26, Fineko/abc.az. The Tariff (Price) Council has held today a regular meeting.

ABC.AZ reports that in particular, the State Service of Special Communications & Information Security appealed to the Tariff Council for consideration of tariffs for the use of the Internet, special radio communications and the fiber-optic network AzStateNet and other services.

The appeal says that in order to provide state bodies with reliable communication, it became necessary to regulate tariffs and create new services taking into account the costs of them.

The Tariff Council considered it appropriate to accept the proposed tariffs.

As these services are rendered only to state bodies, these tariffs do not apply to the population and business entities.

In addition, the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport appealed to the Tariff Council in connection with the regulation of monthly subscription fees for fixed-line telephones and tariffs for international telephone services. In order to ensure high-quality communication services, increase wages and pay off expenses, it became necessary to revise tariffs.

After discussions, a decision was made to increase monthly subscription fee for the use of fixed telephones from 2.5 to 3.5 manats for the population (including VAT), as well as to reduce the tariff for long-distance telephone calls from 5 to 3 gapiks.

Both decisions come into force from 1 November 2022.
