October 24, Fineko/abc.az. Today, the greatest increase in prices is observed for oils. The cheapest sunflower oil in stores costs 5 manats 10 gapik for 1 liter, ABC.AZ reports, citing expert economist Rauf Garayev.

He stressed that Cabinet Ministers’ norm specifies 10.9 kg of vegetable oil, margarine and other fats for the able-bodied population.

According to this basket, a person needs 0.912 kg of fat per month. If we count 5 manats 10 gapik and subtract this amount from 251 manats, 246 manats will remain. According to the schedule, if we eat bread with fried potatoes for 1 month, we’ll need 24 manats a month. Reality shows that currently the minimum wage is at least 3-fold less than market prices. At least 900 manats are needed for the life of one able-bodied person. If prices are rising daily, then the government should step in. Because the schedule specified by the Cabinet is not even consistent with the minimum wage, not to mention the normal life of a person," the expert believes.
