October 20, Fineko/abc.az. It is planned to create the possibility of contactless fare payment in the Baku Metro from next year, Baku Metro spokesman Bakhtiyar Mammadov says.

He said that work is already underway in this regard.

"After the completion of the technical design and re-testing, the system will be put into operation. Passengers will be able to pay for travel using smart watches, mobile devices, QR codes and bank cards," Mammadov said.
