October 19, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan officially reports inflation of 14%, and independent experts say about inflation of 25%. However, the price growth continues rapidly.

ABC.AZ reports that in connection with this issue, expert economist Natig Jafarli, noted that even the official figures themselves are quite large and show the pace of price growth in Azerbaijan.

The expert believes that food inflation in Azerbaijan is above 20%:

"Unofficially, around the world, to measure inflation, prices for about 30 essential goods are calculated separately so that governments can see the situation more clearly. We don't have that approach. We’ll probably see that the price of 30 consumer goods has increased by about 40-45%. This is also a pretty serious figure, and inflation is becoming one of the main factors of impoverishment of the population."
