October 12, Fineko/abc.az. Veal and mutton have risen in price in Baku.
ABC.AZ reports that in some points of sale the price of 1 kg of veal with bones increased from 12 to 13-14 manats and without bones from 13 to 14-15 manats.
According to sellers, the main reason for the price increase is the rise in the cost of feed.
The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy & Consumer Market Supervision (under the Ministry of Economy) informs that prices for food products, including meat, in Azerbaijan are formed not on the basis of state-regulated tariffs, but in accordance with the principles of market economy, based on supply and demand.
Under the Law on Entrepreneurial Activity, entrepreneurs freely set prices for their products (work, services). However, in order to avoid manipulations with prices, the State Service is taking appropriate measures in accord with the law.
