ABC.AZ reports that according to official data, the population of the country at the beginning of this year was 10,156,400 people.

At the same time, 599,228 people in Azerbaijan live below the poverty line.

According to the data at the beginning of this year, the poverty level in Azerbaijan is 204 manats 70 gapik. Those whose monthly income is below this amount are considered poor.

For comparison, the poverty rate in 2021 was 6.2%. The poverty rate in 2001 was 49%, and in 2019 it was 4.8%.
